Our Story
I could say it all started with Covid,
but that wouldn't be entirely true...
“We promised ourselves that when this nightmare was over, we would sell our city flat and buy a small house in a small village and live there, leaving the bad memories behind.”
I've always been a city person, born and raised in a county seat.
I also went to school in big cities. Then my future wife and I shared a rental apartment and eventually few years later we could buy a small city apartment.
After our two daughters were born, we moved to a bigger apartment.
Maybe this could have been the end of the story, and we would grow old as happy city dwellers.
But but from nothing my then 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter was diagnosed with severe cancer a few months before the Covid19 outbreak.
This blog is not about that period, but it was important to mention.
Being trapped in an apartment and battling the disease triggered us to get out into the countryside and "back to nature".
We promised ourselves that when this nightmare was over, we would sell our city flat and buy a small house in a small village and live there, leaving the bad memories behind.
Fortunately our daughter recovered and we have been living in a small village of less than 700 people for 3 years.
This blog is about our experiences and our everyday life.
